Money announced for first responders' mental health

    Money is being invested in the mental health of paramedics and first responders.

    Money is being invested in the mental health of paramedics and first responders. Government announced over $230,000 for a one-year dedicated peer support line to improve mental health and services. Staffed by first responders trained in the delivery of peer support, it  will be available 12 hours a day, seven days a week.  According to a survey by Newfoundland and Labrador’s Paramedic Mental Health Working Group, 78 per cent of respondents stated they would access dedicated peer support if available.
